USAGOLD note: Both the dollar and gold have gained thus far this year on the capital flow to safe havens. Bloomberg reports that the dollar is up 1.9% since the end of December. Gold is up 4.4% during the same period. It is not often that the dollar and gold are traveling companions, but they have been since early 2019 as shown in the chart below.
