One of the most popular desires amongst our clients is for a unique engagement ring; however, that can conflict with also wanting something traditional and timeless. One suggestion we make often at LB is to opt for a more minimalistic engagement ring design, like a solitaire, its opposed to an intricate setting concept.
This allows for more flexibility when selecting your wedding band. The wedding band design is not always chosen before or while purchasing an engagement ring (and understandably so!), but by choosing a solitaire look you can decide if you want to go super sparkly, more of a vintage/antique look, minimalist and understated, or a stack of different textures for even more versatility!
Solid but Textured
If you prefer the idea of the center diamond of your engagement ring being the main focal point, you may like wedding band styles that do not have diamonds in them at all. Instead, a braided band or a twisted design would be perfect for you!
Pop of Color
Mixing metals is also very popular for a modern yet understated look!
Pave Diamonds
If a color change-up doesn’t add enough pop for you, add in a pave band in any color gold! Pave bands have a very traditional and seamless look paired with almost any style engagement ring, but offer amazing contrast to a solitaire! A simple matched-width pave band or a thicker pave with larger round cut diamonds can really add a wow factor!
Vintage Inspiration
Another stunning option is one of vintage inspiration! A bezel set band is a super cute way to offset a solitaire because it adds distinctive shape while still stacking beautifully! Keep in mind they come in a multitude of shapes and even alternating styles!
Channel set bands also offer unique appeal: there are no visible prongs, just a polished or migraine metal edge that allows for the diamonds to shine seamlessly!
Non-Flush Alternative
A fun alternative for rings that may not sit flush with just any band, a “tiara” style makes your bridal set look intentional and complete!
Large Round & Fancy-shape Styles
Last but certainly not least would be our show-stopping larger eternity bands! Often created with ovals, emeralds, pears, and marquise, these rings are usually worn on the opposite hand. Combining your engagement ring with such a large eternity band can take away from the overall look, however they are still a favorite! Luckily we have perfected a way to ensure that we can hand-curate these options for any price range!
There really aren’t any rules as to how to style your wedding band and engagement rings, however there certainly are an infinite amount of options! Email us at info@laurenb.com to create yours today!
