Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Where are the prices of your engagement rings?

While we stock more than 300 ready-to-buy engagement ring styles, most of the engagement rings we sell are custom-made to fit our client’s individual tastes and budgets. This is why we do not list the prices of engagement rings on our website! The price of a Lauren B engagement ring depends on the style of the ring, the center stone (shape, carat size, and quality), the band metal, and more. As a result, Lauren B’s engagement ring pricing is as unique as the rings we design with and for our clients.

If you see a ring you like on our website or Instagram, please contact info@laurenb.com for pricing, and someone from our design team will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can select the “Ask a Question” option on an individual engagement ring style page for a detailed quote within 48 hours.

Question: What is the difference between natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds?

The lab-grown diamond and the natural diamond are identical in both appearance and chemical composition. The primary difference between a natural, mined diamond and a lab-grown diamond is that one was formed deep below the Earth’s surface and one was grown in a lab environment.

In addition, lab-grown diamonds are priced 50-70% lower than natural diamonds. Natural, mined diamonds are limited in supply while lab-grown diamonds are produced without limitations, leading to the price discrepancy between these two gemstones.

Our blog “The Truth About Lab Grown Diamonds” takes a deep dive into the world of lab-grown diamonds, busting the common myths surrounding these natural diamond alternatives.

If you prefer visual content, you can watch our “Natural VS Lab Grown Diamond – Which one is which?” video, below and try to guess which one you think is natural.

Question: Are all of your diamonds GIA certified?

All of our natural diamond selections at Lauren B Jewelry are GIA certified for the highest standard of quality.

We also offer GIA or IGI certified lab-grown diamonds in our inventory. This allows us to ensure the lab-grown diamonds we provide our clients are of the highest quality. Most jewelers do not carry this level of certification for their lab-grown diamond inventory.

Question: What if I saw a ring I liked elsewhere… Can I bring a picture to my appointment?

We encourage our clients to bring photo inspiration to their design consultations!

During your appointment our design consultant will review each point of the inspiration provided, in detail, to ensure that your custom engagement ring fits your exact specifications.

If you are not sure where to begin the engagement ring shopping process, our Pinterest page is brimming with engagement ring inspiration. You can see our engagement ring styles in action and garner inspiration for your custom design.

Question: What if I want a stone that you don’t have in stock?

Our engagement ring designs are not limited to our current inventory. Our design consultants will work with you to source a center stone that aligns with your preferences and budget.

As you can see from the engagement ring styles presented below, there is no such phrase as “too unique” at Lauren B. We look forward to providing you with the center stone that perfectly matches your engagement ring vision.

7 Carat Oval Diamond Rose Gold Engagement Ring

1.55 ct Fancy Intense Green Diamond Engagement Ring

2.07 ct Fancy Orange Diamond Platinum Engagement Ring

Question: Can I repurpose or use a stone that I already have?

Yes. We can create settings for any center stone, regardless of carat size or shape.

We do charge a “corkage” fee for setting provided stones; this fee can range from $300 or higher depending on the size of the center stone.

Question: Can I just walk into the store or do I need to make an appointment?

We require an appointment to visit the Lauren B showroom. This allows us to limit capacity, ensure proper safety protocol, and monitor social distancing. Additionally, appointments ensure our sales team is completely prepared for your arrival and ready to assist you.

Question: How long is an appointment and how many people can I bring?

Appointment times vary from 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on each client’s needs. We are currently only allowing 1 guest per person due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Question: What if I’m from out of town? Can I still get a Lauren B engagement ring?

Yes. We work with a wide variety of clients, a majority of whom live remotely! We offer virtual appointments with design consultants, after which we will communicate exclusively by email and phone.

Whether you live in the New York area or on the California coast, our design consultants will work with you every step of the way.
