There is a lot happening in the ethical gold space, said Michael Albanese, CEO of Tradewind Markets. Issues with conflict gold are popping up more and more these days, but it is actually good news because rising concern is encouraging sellers and buyers to pay much closer attention to where their gold came from.
“It is very positive that market participants, whether they are mining companies, banks, or downstream purchasers of gold, are starting to become more conscious and conscientious about understanding the supply-chain provenance — where the gold came from, how it was produced and in some cases whether it was recently recycled or not,” Albanese said.
