We have already shown popular wedding rings on the finger. But you will often find a limit to the range of widths offered for wedding bands.
From time to time, we create extra wide wedding rings for men. All of our extra wide bands come through our bespoke wedding rings service.
The width of a wedding bands tends to range from around 2.5mm upwards. Wider wedding rings tend to range from 7mm upwards. Most are made for larger finger sizes. These are usually created as men’s wedding rings.

Over the years we have created many extra wide wedding rings. For some time, the widest band we produced came out to around 10mm. Sometimes plain, sometimes banded, Diamond set, occasionally patterned or possibly engraved. Sometimes court profile, sometimes D shaped.
Mens wide wedding rings with engravings
A simple engraving adds a prominent detail to any wide wedding ring. Moreover, it transforms a plain band into a unique design. We provide a variety of services. For example, the addition of fingerprints. Or, add your partner’s actual heartbeat to your extra wide wedding band. Our example below shows a wide 8mm Platinum wedding ring created with a heavyweight traditional court design.
Is there a maximum width for men’s wedding rings?
Earlier this month, one of our clients approached us with a preference for a specific ring width. He particularly liked the idea of a 13mm wide band. A further note within the brief requested a comfort fit, with a flat outer surface. A medium weight flat court wedding ring.
Whilst there is no specific maximum width, above a certain size, comfort becomes an issue.
Men’s wide Diamond Set Platinum wedding band
The ring commission is simple, but engineered with simplicity and precision. We used 950 Palladium to create the band. A surprising weight despite the lighter weight comparison to heavier metals like Platinum.
Extra wide wedding rings for men with large fingers
Extra wide wedding rings suit larger finger sizes. We tend to suggest starting from 6mm or 7mm widths for larger hands. Designs wider than 8mm – 9mm are usually produced as bespoke commissions.
