The oceans are being contaminated by microplastics to the factor where even fish and shellfish is ending up being contaminated.
Sarah Paiji Yoo is the CEO of Blueland, a company that produces re-usable cleaning products.
" About 14 billion pounds of garbage is dumped into the ocean each year. Regarding a 3rd of the fish that we consume is thought to have microplastics in their system. We are eating, as adults, a bank card's worth of plastic every week, so it is pretty scary," Yoo informed Kitco's support, David Lin.
Yoo included that 90% of our drinking water contains microplastics.
The intensity of this problem can be minimized if all companies in the cleaning supply industry that use plastics re-use their product packaging, Yoo stated.
" Our computations would claim that if everybody moved to a re-usable system instead of eating a brand-new plastic cleansing container each time they need new cleaning items, we might conserve 100 billion plastic containers from entering our garbage dumps along with seas," she claimed.
